Alpha Box Office Update: Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Spy Actioner Sees a Sharp Drop on Second Monday

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s spy action drama Alpha is continuing to struggle at the Indian box office, and the film is now clearly in its final legs. The YRF Spy Universe release recorded a 50 per cent drop on its second Monday compared to Friday, adding just Rs. 65 lakh to its tally. This took the film’s second-week collection to Rs. 6.35 crore nett in four days and pushed its total run to Rs. 51.50 crore nett in India.

According to the news source, the film, directed by Shiv Rawail, is now expected to close this week in the range of Rs. 8 to 9 crore. If that happens, its overall cume could move closer to the Rs. 55 crore mark.

Alpha Box Office Performance So Far

The day-wise collection pattern shows that Alpha opened with a decent first week but lost momentum quickly in the second week. The film’s current trend suggests that it will not be able to reach a strong final total, especially considering its higher budget.

Here is the day-wise box office breakdown for Alpha in India:

  • Week 1: Rs. 45.25 crore
  • 2nd Friday: Rs. 1.30 crore
  • 2nd Saturday: Rs. 2.10 crore
  • 2nd Sunday: Rs. 2.20 crore
  • 2nd Monday (est.): Rs. 0.65 crore
  • Total: Rs. 51.50 crore

Final Run May End in the Rs. 60 to Rs. 65 Crore Range

Based on the current box office trend, the YRF spy universe film is heading toward a final run in the vicinity of Rs. 60 to Rs. 65 crore nett. While that would place it ahead of some recent female-led films, it is still not enough to count as a successful theatrical run because the budget is on the higher side.

The film’s performance highlights a familiar box office challenge for female-led action films in India. Historically, such films have struggled to draw large audiences, making them a risky proposition from the start. For Alpha, that challenge became even tougher because the YRF Spy Universe was already facing a low phase after the underperformance of Tiger 3 and, more significantly, War 2.

What Alpha’s Box Office Trend Means

Even with difficult conditions working against it, the film still managed to get off the ground, which is being seen as a small positive. But the larger picture remains clear: the movie is likely to suffer heavy losses.

That said, the production house has also been noted for maintaining a clean approach without indulging in the kind of tactics often spoken about in the trade. The same was said about War 2 as well, with Yash Raj Films being credited for leading by example and handling both success and failure with grace.

Why Alpha Is Struggling at the Box Office

Several factors are working against Alpha at the moment:

  • The film has dropped sharply on its second Monday.
  • Its overall second-week trend is weak.
  • The budget is high, making the current collections insufficient for a successful run.
  • The YRF Spy Universe has recently seen underperformance from other films.
  • Female-led action films have historically had a difficult time at the Indian box office.

As things stand, Alpha has entered the final stage of its theatrical journey. The collections may still inch upward over the week, but the current pace suggests that the film will end far below what would be needed to be considered a box office success.

Alpha Box Office Snapshot

  • Genre: Spy action drama
  • Lead actors: Alia Bhatt and Sharvari
  • Director: Shiv Rawail
  • Current total: Rs. 51.50 crore nett
  • Expected weekly close: Rs. 8 to 9 crore
  • Likely final run: Rs. 60 to Rs. 65 crore nett

Alpha may not be heading toward a successful theatrical outcome, but its box office run remains a notable example of the challenges faced by female-led action films in the current market. The film’s final numbers will soon confirm just how much ground it can cover before completing its run.
